A topic that we often get questions about is the safety behind dental x-rays. Commonly, these questions are directed towards overexposure to radiation and the necessity of x-rays being taken annually. We have found some articles that articulate the safety of dental x-rays well and also provide some comparisons between dental x-rays and other forms of radiation that one would encounter while going about their daily life. The different types of x-rays taken and their corresponding functions within dentistry is likewise explained to help provide additional clarity for those interested.
